Barcelona might sell superstar to Manchester United in January

According to multiple reports, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s Manchester United will be still looking to bring in Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele in the upcoming January transfer window.

More from Everything Barca

United have had an everlasting problem in the right-wing after Cristiano Ronaldo had left the club in 2009. Till now, they have not yet had a right-winger that had matched Ronaldo’s level at Old Trafford. Injuries, inconsistent performances, and failure to settle at Manchester have all been the reasons to leave for all the multiple right-wingers that had arrived at United with hope.

The summer transfer window in 2020 witnessed Ole Gunnar Solksjaer target Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele after failing to secure Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund. The former Dortmund winger would solve a lot of problems at Old Trafford given his potential talent. However, his injuries can be a huge problem.

Especially in the Premier League where the game is more physical than that of tactical. He will face tough challenges, tackles, and shoves constantly week in week out and one has to be physically very strong to thrive in the English League.

Many players from La Liga have come to England and they have thrived extremely well. Players like David Silva and Alexis Sanchez are some of the success stories in the Premier League and they had adjusted very well to the physical conditions. However, players like Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla failed to adapt much as they provided inconsistent spells of performances.

They suffered from multiple injuries that led to a very inconsistent display from them. Hence, Manchester United, if they do go after Dembele, will need to have him play in such a system that will help him avoid injuries.

The Manchester side will reportedly go after the 23-year-old winger in January, according to Mundo Deportivo, as Barca are also looking to sell the Frenchman. It will be a fantastic addition to the front three. The Frenchman will get to link up with his international teammates such as Antony Martial and Paul Pogba.

Meanwhile, Dembele’s sale will allow the Catalan side to secure multiple transfer targets with Eric Garcia from Manchester City and a new striker like Inter’s Lautaro Martinez or Lyon’s Memphis Depay, being linked with a move to the Nou Camp.

Should Barca sell Dembele to help recover finances?
