Ousmane Dembele does not have any intentions of leaving Barcelona.

Ronald Koeman and Barcelona are reportedly “worried” that 23-year-old winger Ousmane Dembele will not be signing a new contract. The club was apparently ready to offload the player during the summer transfer window of 2020 but it looks like the Blaugrana have changed their mind as they have been hit by multiple injuries. With Ansu Fati out injured for a long time and the fact that they could not land a good replacement for club veteran, Luis Suarez is worrying. Hence, this event has led to the Catalans trying to pin down the Frenchman for another deal.

According to multiple top-tier sources, Barcelona plan to confirm Ousmane Dembele till 2022 with another tempting contract. However, they are not confident about the player completely agreeing to those terms as he might have a plan to venture somewhere else.

The former Borussia Dortmund prospect was heavily linked to Manchester United during the summer transfer window of 2020 as the Blaugrana were ready to offload him. The 23-year-old had reportedly agreed to personal terms too with Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s side. This move would see the youngster team up with French international teammates such as Paul Pogba and Antony Martial.

Due to multiple financial and injury problems, it looks like the Catalans will not be able to land Ronald Koeman’s preferred targets, hence they plan on landing Ousmane Dembele for a longer period of time given the current situation at the club. Manchester United are reportedly coming back for the winger in January and it looks like this time they will pitch a more serious offer for the 23-year-old.

The Blaugrana are not very confident about the Frenchman signing a new deal as they believe that he plans to join Solksjaer’s United and move to the Theatre of Dreams in January. The arrival of the January transfer window in 2021 will witness another transfer saga that involves Manchester United and Barcelona both and this can possibly go very far.
