Barcelona have a promising youngster to resolve their issues.

Barcelona academy product Oscar Mingueza has heavily impressed so far with his performances at the Nou Camp this season. The young Spaniard has earned the trust of absolutely everyone at the club including new manager Ronald Koeman with his recent performances for the Catalan club. The La Masia graduate looks to have a bright future ahead of him.

More from Everything Barca

Koeman’s Barcelona have faced a ton of off-field and on-field problems since the Dutchman’s arrival. The Blaugrana have been facing financial problems for a long time now failing to gather funds for necessary transfers. Selling a lot of players to gather transfer money and to free up heavy wages have helped improve the situation a little better but the problems have not gone away completely.

Meanwhile, the Catalan giants have also faced a ton of injury problems with youngster Ansu Fati, who was proving to be a huge force, now out for more than 4-5 months.

Club legend and main centre-back Gerard Pique too has now been out for quite a while and will be for the few upcoming months. Hence, Mingueza has been given his position and the 21-year-old has not failed to deliver so far. The Barcelona B vice-captain has made every minute count and has performed brilliantly so far.

Oscar looks to be very comfortable on the ball during build-up. His composure and strength look to be solid. Even in the air, the B-team vice-captain looks promising. Hence, Barcelona are now considering not moving for a centre-back in the January transfer window of 2021.

Previously, they were heavily monitoring Manchester City’s Eric Garcia but his contract won’t be over till the summer. If the La Liga giants move for Garcia in the winter transfer window, then he would still come in at a free of 30 million euros.

With the club being on the cusp of bankruptcy, saved only by the wage-cut agreed by the players, the Blaugrana have planned to move forward this season with their La Masia graduate Mingueza and they can land the Manchester City youngster in the summer transfer window of 2021 for free without spending any money on short-term solutions.

Should Barca go with Mingueza or sign a reinforcement in January?
