Lionel Messi’s national teammate echoes PSG interest.

Argentine International footballer Leandro Paredes has reportedly stated that he would love to see his national captain at the Parc des Princes over the January transfer window or in the summer transfer window of 2021. The Argentine has played with the 33-year-old Barcelona playmaker multiple times for their nation and the midfielder would love to see the little magician over at the Ligue 1 very soon.

More from Everything Barca

Lionel Messi had handed in a transfer request asking for a move out of the Nou Camp in the 2020 summer transfer window. However, due to legal complications, the move did not take place as the 33-year-old did not want to take his beloved club Barcelona to court and ruin their reputation. Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City were favorites to sign the magician in the summer of 2020 but no serious moves happened.

Multiple sources now suggest that the English giants have completely cooled their interest in Lionel Messi and apparently have no interest in signing the Argentine. The reports suggest that given Messi’s age his wages will be too expensive for the Manchester side. However, fresh reports suggest that Paris Saint-Germain will be coming to swoop the magician in January or in the summer, whatever is suitable.

After the Parisian’s victory at Old Trafford against Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League group stage, the Brazilian superstar Neymar Jr. stated that he would love it if he gets to play with Lionel Messi again. He stated in his exclusive interview that he would love for the French giants to bring in the Argentine over to Ligue 1 and form the famous partnership again. From this particular statement, the whole team at PSG especially, Leandro Paredes has also stated that it would be fantastic if the 33-year-old playmaker joins them at the Parc Des Princes.

"“Messi at PSG? I hope so, we all want him to come but it will be his decision. We have an incredible squad, good players, good people, we take advantage of that. As I have said, I hope Leo will make the best decision for him, but we will welcome him with open arms.”Source GOAL via ESPN"

It remains to be seen if Messi does decide to leave the Nou Camp next season with multiple Barca presidential candidates claiming the 33-year-old will remain at the club.
