Lionel Messi and Ballon d’Or saga continues.

As expected, Lionel Messi has been included in the Dream team announced by France Football. The Argentine forward joins his arch-rival, Cristiano Ronaldo and the Brazilian legend, Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima, to form the Dream team’s forwards. Alongside Messi, his former teammate and very good friend, Xavi Hernandez was also included in the team.

Lionel Messi is arguably the best player ever in the right-wing. Many argue he is the best player to have ever graced the sport. Even though he does not have many international trophies or achievements, he has changed the sport forever. The number 10 will certainly go down to be one of the most legendary players and his club achievements and individual awards are an alibi to that statement.

With six Ballon d’Or, the 33-year-old is currently leading the race although his fierce rival, Ronaldo is not far behind. Ronaldo and Messi rivalry has created many historical matches and moments and was truly the main attraction of La Liga for many years. Although the El Clasico is a very old and traditional rivalry, the Portuguese national and Argentine, made the occasion 10 times bigger.

Ever since his early days in Newell’s Old Boys, he was destined for greatness. His move to Barcelona secured his status as a legend and he can be compared to the greats such as Maradona and Pele. Messi is in fact on track to break Pele’s record of most number of goals for a single club. The Argentine is just one goal away from matching Pele’s record and two goals away from breaking it.

It has not been all sunshine and roses for the player, as he has been going through a rather difficult time at his current club. Messi wants an exit due to the club’s performance and management however, on the other hand, he loves the club and does not wish to see it suffer. He has been on a rollercoaster of a ride and it is time that we respect his decisions and support him on his journey forward till the end of his legendary career.
