Liverpool look keen on securing Barcelona target.
It looks like Manchester City have completely failed to secure their 19-year-old Spanish centre-back, Eric Garcia, for another contract. The defender is convinced that he will leave in the upcoming transfer window of 2021 or even in the summer window as his contract ends there. Barcelona are the heavy favorites to land the player as Garcia will be returning to the Nou Camp after 7 years with Manchester City academy. The youngster was formerly a La Masia product and it looks like he will be heading back to his roots.

However, the situation now is that multiple reports now suggest that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have entered the race for the 19-year-old. Just like Ronald Koeman‘s Barcelona, the Reds are having injury problems at the back. The Blaugrana have Samuel Umtiti and Gerard Pique out for quite a while, whereas Liverpool have Virgil van Dijk out with an ACL injury alongside Joe Gomez, Joel Matip, and Alexander Arnold facing regular injuries.
Garcia would be a good signing for Barcelona as well as Liverpool as the youngster is currently just 19 years of age. At such a young age he’s got good decision-making skills alongside good reading of counter-attacks and top passing skills which were obviously heavily improved under Josep Pep Guardiola.
City have failed to convince the youngster to stay a few more years at the City of Manchester Stadium but the Spaniard looks like he’s determined to leave for the Nou Camp. Multiple reports suggest that he has already agreed to personal terms with Barcelona but now the rumors about Jurgen Klopp and his side are surfacing. Only the arrival of the January transfer window of 2021 will tell the future of the bright Manchester City center back.
Should Barca sign Garcia in January or risk it during the Summer transfer window when he is free for every other club as well?
