Former Spurs manager, Mauricio Pochettino is expected to fill in the role of the recently sacked Thomas Tuchel. The Argentine manager has been out of the football game since his sacking in 2019. A horrendous start to the season after a UEFA Champions League final was enough for Daniel Levy to replace the wonder coach with the Portuguese manager, Jose Mourinho.
A return to the managerial scene will be excellent for Pochettino as well as fans all over the world who have missed the mastermind’s presence. According to reports and rumors, the 48-year-old is also expected to bring in two world-class players with him. The first one being Dele Alli who has been left out of Tottenham’s squad by Mourinho and the next is the legend himself, Lionel Messi.
Alli, has fallen out of favor and is desperately looking for some playtime. Spurs cannot provide that to him at the moment and his talent is being wasted on the bench. Pochettino is expected to bring in his prodigy as a loanee first and then make it a permanent transfer later on if he works well with the rest of the team.
However, Messi is the only player every PSG fan wants to see at their club and Pochettino has been tipped as the man who can make the unthinkable happen. Messi already has great relationships with Neymar and Angel Di Maria. The new PSG manager is a fellow Argentinian and surely Paris is a more cosmopolitan city for the maestro than Manchester. All of these could play a factor into the transfer.
Messi is tipped to leave in July and with the arrival of Pochettino in PSG, the deal is getting ever closer. However, the appointment of a new president could be the one thing that could stop Messi from leaving. On the 24th of January, a new president is being elected and if he can impress the captain with a stellar future plan, the 33-year-old might just stay for a few more years.
