MLS side, Inter Miami, want to secure Lionel Messi.

Lionel Messi’s transfer is the biggest story in the footballing world right now. Ever since August when the forward expressed his desire for a move away from Barcelona, his future has been full of speculations. Another club has recently entered the saga, MLS side, Inter Miami.

More from Everything Barca

The 33-year-old has been linked with many top tier teams such as Manchester City, Juventus, and Paris Saint-Germain. However, now David Beckham’s team has been linked with the superstar. People would not expect the six-time Ballon d’Or to retire to the Major League Soccer so soon but the former Manchester United man could persuade him to join his side.

For starters, Messi would be on a very lucrative contract with many bonuses. He would also get easier competition and could thus extend his football career by a few more years. Lastly, Beckham himself could gift the Argentine something to make him join the Florida based organization.

Beckham was offering Olivier Giroud a very expensive apartment in the Porsche Towers but Messi already has an apartment there. He could gift the player another mansion at a different location to persuade him. Plus Beckham and Messi share a very good friendship as they are interlinked with a lot of companies in the professional sector.

Beckham has started to strengthen his team quite a bit by getting top-level players such as Gonzalo Higuaín and Blaise Matuidi. He is committed to making his franchise one of, if not the biggest one in the MLS. However, the Messi deal seems like a longshot even if they can afford to give him a better contract than Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City.

The little Magician isn’t the only player the Englishman was after though, he also tried to get Luis Suarez but the Uruguayan chose to move to Atletico Madrid instead. Messi will have a lot of contracts to go through in January and it is unlikely that the best in the world will move out of Europe so soon.
