Koeman talks Pochettino wanting Lionel Messi for PSG.

There has been multiple rumours of Barcelona club legend Lionel Messi, leaving in the January or Summer transfer window of 2021 as his contract is almost up with the Catalans. Currently, the latest rumoured club for the magician’s future is Paris Saint-Germain. The French giants recently sacked their coach Thomas Tuchel who had taken the side to their first-ever UEFA Champions League final in history. The former Borussia Dortmund coach ended up losing the tie against Hansi Flick’s Bayern Munich who were simply outrageous that season as they landed a treble win.

The Parisians have been heavily linked with hiring former Tottenham boss, Mauricio Pochettino for the job. The Argentine coach has been recently linked with wanting Messi at the French capital.

Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman has recently stated that the exit of Messi will not depend on Pochettino joining Paris Saint-Germain. Many believe that Pochettino, a former Newell’s Old Boys player like Messi, could be an added bonus alongside Neymar, for Messi’s potential move to Paris.

The Argentine captain has been rumoured to leave the Nou Camp after he handed in the transfer request during the summer transfer window of 2020. Due to multiple contractual obligations, the magician failed to make an exit from the club. However, he is still rumoured to leave and his two predicted destinations are the Parc des Princes or The City of Manchester Stadium. Koeman has stated that Pochettino joining PSG will have absolutely no effect on Messi as the Argentine has nothing to do with the situation.

In a recent open and exclusive interview the Argentine stated that he is not aware of where he wants to go in the near future if he does make an exit. However, he has stated that he wants to play in the United States of America in Major League Soccer.
