More from Everything Barca

Blaugrana manager Ronald Koeman has stated that the Argentine will be out for the fixture against Eibar due to a minor injury that he picked up in the previous game.

The Argentine is currently down with a knock in his ankle which should be completely healed soon according to the latest reports. The 33-year-old will be back for the Catalans’ first game of 2021.

While the current status of the injury remains minor, his absence could extend depending on the seriousness of this particular injury. The Argentine could miss the match against Huesca on the 4th of January.

In his exclusive and open interview with La Sexta, the Barca no. 10 stated that he will be spending the New Year’s and Christmas holidays with his family in Argentina. The Barcelona veteran has been given a full green light for this proposition.

As for Messi’s future, Koeman did not exactly have much to say. The former Everton manager stated that he is happy and lucky to currently have the magician on his team, as he makes the gameplay easier with his special abilities.

However, the Dutchman is not sure about the future of the club legend given the fact that he might leave for Paris Saint-Germain or Manchester City following the completion of his contract. The former Southampton coach is not sure about Messi staying or leaving but he is just satisfied that the magician is fully committed to the club.
