Emili Rousaud’s advisor claims Erling Haaland confirmed for Barcelona
Barcelona presidential candidate’s advisor talks Erling Haaland.
January is upon us and this will be quite an interesting month for Barcelona fans everywhere. The Presidential election is due on the 24th of January and as soon as a new president is elected, the club can finally bring in some much-needed reinforcements. While Victor Font and Joan Laporta are tipped to win the upcoming election, candidate Emili Rousaud came out with some very interesting news.

Rousaud or rather his advisor, Josep Maria Minguella, has come out with some rather striking news right before the elections. In an interview with AS, Minguella claims that his candidate can get Erling Haaland to Barcelona if he is elected in January.
These are some bold statements by the candidate but Minguella claims that he has spoken to Haalands’s manager, Mino Raiola and that they have reached an agreement.
Minguella was quoted by AS saying,
"“We know all the conditions and if we win, the following day I will call Mino Raiola and we will accept those conditions. I have already advised him of that,”“We have a world-class sports project that is not showing just now, but Emili Rousaud has a plan that will turn this unfortunate situation [at Barcelona] around.”Source Goal"
Well if this is any true, apparently Haaland’s agent himself has no idea about it. Raiola was recently asked by Sport1, whether the rumors were true and would the Norwegian be going to the Camp Nou, he answered by saying,
"“Fake news! I’ve never talked to any presidential candidate of Barcelona regarding Haaland or any other of my clients and I will not do that either.”Source Goal"
This is all quite absurd, to say the least. Firstly, Barcelona does not have the money to sign a player like Haaland, and secondly, his agent denied having any conversation with the presidential candidate. This is a rumor that seems to be going nowhere. Minguella even talked about signing Kylian Mbappe.
Instead of focusing on big-name players, the next president should fix out their budget, extend Lionel Messi’s contract and sort out their on-field performances. Barca have to face the fact that they cannot afford any big names at the moment and it might stay that way until their debts are repaid.
Should Barca focus on securing Haaland?
