Font had previously mentioned that he would like to bring club legend, Xavi Hernandez, back to the club if was elected. He doubled down on that point and confirmed that he would definitely try to make him the new manager of Barcelona should he be elected as the president. In a recent interview with, Marca, the candidate said,

"“Xavi’s dream is to be a coach. We want Xavi to be the person in charge of the football structure.“He will have enough power to make important decisions. He’s clear that his dream is to be a coach, so as soon as the club need him in that position, it will happen.”Source Goal"

He has made it abundantly clear that he does not trust Ronald Koeman’s methods or philosophy and that he will much rather have Xavi handle the team. When asked about former Barca and current Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, Font replied that he was open to get him back as well.

The Spanish mastermind has recently extended his stay at Manchester till 2023 but Font made it clear that he would try to secure his signature once his time with CIty came to an end. He said in the same interview,

"“I want to create an environment and keep hold of the greatest talent like Guardiola, who is the best coach in the world. He has already told us that what he did in 2008 is now up to other generations, like Xavi’s. He thinks that Xavi is the ideal candidate to lead the project, but trying to get him back in another role will be a top priority.”"

The candidate wants to bring in yesterday’s stars to pull the club back to the top but some of his dreams are a bit too ambitious. Currently, Font is not even leading the race. In a poll held by Mundo Deportivo, Joan Laporta is currently in the lead and could go on to beat Font in order to have his second reign as Barcelona President.
