Manchester City legend wanted by Barcelona.

Ronald Koeman’s Barcelona are interested in landing the signature of Manchester City and Argentina forward Sergio Aguero according to ESPN. The Manchester City legend’s contract expires next summer and the player will be a free agent soon. Multiple sources are reporting that the Catalans are now heavily interested in signing the City talisman given their current financial status.

More from Everything Barca

Aguero is currently 32 years of age and as of now he is in his last few months of contract with Manchester City. The Argentine is reportedly considering a move to another club given the fact that him and the English giants have not yet decided on a new contract.

With just six months remaining in his current contract, he is now free to negotiate with any other club with Barca now looking to get on the player as soon as possible.

The Argentine international has been out injured for a very long time. He made a couple of appearances this year but still the player is not fully fit. However, the Argentine is one of the finest centre-forwards of this generation and he would certainly be a fantastic addition to a striker-less Barcelona.

Also considering the fact that Lionel Messi might be leaving the Nou Camp this summer, Aguero can be a big-name signing which could, in turn, convince Messi to stay, given their long-term friendship.

The former Atletico Madrid star even had 100 plus goals for the men in red and white at such a young age. It just goes on to prove the absolute lethality of Aguero. The forward has been consistent throughout his Manchester career and only setbacks that have caused him problems were injuries.

Injuries have been a large reason why the player failed to reach an unbelievable level of achievement in his career, as many believe that without constant injuries, Aguero could have helped City lift the Champions League trophy.

However, he’s still a proven footballer and he would make a fantastic addition at the Nou Camp under Ronald Koeman. Aguero can also be Barcelona’s short-term yet free solution to the sudden exit of Luis Suarez.
