#1 Memphis Depay of Olympique Lyonnais
One of the first things that Ronald Koeman did when he was appointed as the manager of Barcelona was to let go of veteran striker, Luis Suarez. In his place, the dutch manager wanted to bring in Lyon’s Memphis Depay. The winger, who can also play as a striker, had already played under Koeman and was optimistic about playing under him at Camp Nou.
However, their financial situation did not allow the deal to go through. Thus the Spanish giants were left without a proper striker and they are really missing Suarez’s finishing abilities. Koeman is desperate to bring in a proper number nine but it seems like he might have to wait till the end of the season.
Depay has shown his interest to join Barcelona next season and he will be a fantastic addition to the team. He has already scored 11 goals in the league this season, only three behind top goal scorer, Kylian Mbappe. With his contract running out and Lyon unable to convince him to stay, he is as good as a Barcelona player next season.
