Brazilian superstar Neymar Jr was seen suffering yet another injury. The injury looked serious as he was taken off the pitch. While a piece of sad news for PSG, Ronald Koeman’s Barcelona could largely benefit from it as Neymar is now in serious doubt for the UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie, which is due next week.
The Brazilian was seen in agony and pain after he was the victim of a crunching tackle right when the second half started. The former Barcelona man was taken off immediately, and some fear the duration of this setback could be lengthy.
According to journalists, the Brazilian superstar was seen leaving the stadium early, before the game had even ended. They also stated that the 29-year-old was seen limping while making an exit. If Neymar is to miss the tie next week it’ll be a major let-off for the Blaugrana given their extremely uncomfortable season so far. The Brazilian possesses a huge threat and a Paris Saint-Germain without one of their main threat is good news for the Catalans.
The Brazilian’s struggles with injuries, however, are becoming repetitive. Over the last few years, Neymar has missed almost all major Champions League ties with injuries. With so much bad luck, the winger faces an injury every time these crucial European ties come up.
His fellow teammate Moise Kean has stated that Neymar is fit and will be ready for the crucial tie against the Catalans. However, no official claims have been made so far by the club or Pochettino.
