Liverpool had a huge blow after their most recent loss against Chelsea, adding up to their fifth at Anfield. Jamie Carragher, Liverpool legend, is of the impression that the lack of Philippe Coutinho, who left the Premier League for a move to Barcelona, is clearly visible in the team.

Jurgen Klopp has been advised to invest in someone of Coutinho’s caliber who can create chances as an excellent no. 10. The reigning Premier League Champions are in desperate need of upping the game, and if they need a new Coutinho, perhaps a reunion is in order.

Carragher admitted the need for a no. 10 and the exit of the Brazilian to the La Liga.

"“Klopp famously said that his pressing is better than any No.10, but when you look at Liverpool right now, they look like they need a No.10.”“They had Philippe Coutinho but he left so they built in other areas. But they need that type of player.”Source : Sky Sports"

Coutinho’s precarious situation at Barcelona

Coutinho came to the Nou Camp in January 2018 with a huge transfer fee of 105 million pounds. The 28-year-old did not live up to the big expectations and was overall disappointing, leading to his loan to Bayern Munich. He managed to excel with the Bundesliga giants, but they opted out of signing him permanently.

As a result, this season the playmaker has had very few opportunities under Ronald Koeman, and he could very well opt for an exit in the summer, despite his contract expiring in 2023. With his previous team in dire need of an attacking midfielder, perhaps a deal could be reached between these clubs, that would allow Coutinho’s fans to see more of him as well.
