Barcelona are one of the clubs interested in the soon-to-be free agent.
Bayern Munich star David Alaba has once again been linked with a possible move to Barcelona. The player’s contract is set to expire this summer and will not have a shortage of offers.
It was thought that the Catalans were out of the running and there was even a report that Alaba had already come to an agreement with Real Madrid. But his father came out after those reports and denied those reports.

Barcelona appear to be back in the running and it is all thanks to the presidential victory of Joan Laporta.
According to Sport, the possibility of joining Barcelona is one that very much appeals to Alaba as he wants to play in Spain.
What’s more is Laporta’s good relationship with his agent, Pini Zahavi, could be a factor in getting a deal down.
The new president, however, has denied that there have been any reunions or talks with Zahavi over the possibility of signing Alaba.
Signing the 28-year-old is not going to be an easy task and both the player and agent are going to have to make some sacrifices regardless of where he ends up signing.
The wages he is demanding are simply too high and the last thing Barcelona need is another player with astronomical wages on their books.
One of the things Laporta and his new board will need to is come up with a plan to reduce the wage bill as it is hampering the club’s ability to sign new players.
If Alaba really wants to play in Spain, he is going to need to drastically reduce his wage demand. Then, and only then, will Barcelona actually have any real possibility of signing him.
