The 32-year-old Argentine striker has been linked with the Catalan side for a very good reason. Firstly, his contract is expiring at the end of the current season and Barcelona are in need of a good striker to fill in for Luis Suarez. Secondly, he has a great relationship with Lionel Messi, and thus it would be a great move for him as he could end his professional career playing with the best player in the world as well as one of his best friends.
Manchester City striker talks about rumors linking him to Barcelona
However, nothing is certain at the moment. The new president, Joan Laporta, wants to bring him in but the striker has not decided anything as of now. While streaming on twitch, his online chat was bombarding him with talks of Barcelona, thus finally responded to them by saying,
"“They are all writing Barca, Barca, Barca.”“Let’s hold on a little, have a look. Stop. We are still with City.”Source Goal"
The Argentine will be a solid addition for Ronald Koeman whose biggest mistake was letting go of their previous world-class striker. Suarez has proven that age is just a number in football and he is having a fantastic season with Atletico Madrid. Koeman should learn from this and bring in the incredibly talented veteran from City next season as a temporary fix.
The Catalans need a number nine and Aguero will be perfect. Right now the Blaugrana are quite good and they even gave Paris Saint-Germain a tough fight in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League tie. Their main problem is still their finishing, they need a proper striker who can finish off the matches and the Argentine seems to be the correct choice.
Do you think Sergio Aguero will be a good fit at Barcelona?
