Borussia Dortmund striker, Erling Haaland, is the hottest prospect all around the world at the moment and Barcelona are one of the many clubs who are trying to get their hands on the player. While the German giants are unwilling to let go of their biggest player, his agent, Mino Raiola, remains adamant that Haaland will be sold in the next transfer window. His latest comments sparked a media frenzy yet again and we must wait and see how things progress from here onwards.

Last month, Raiola and Haaland’s father went on tour around the biggest clubs in the world including the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, and a few English sides in order to find out which is the best club for the budding striker.
Agent believes summer transfer is possible for Erling Haaland
While it seems as if the Norwegian is more fond of the Spanish sides, his high wages and additional fees will make it tough for even Madrid and Barca to sign him. In a recent interview with AS, the super-agent said,
"“I don’t know if they (Real Madrid) can afford him, because I haven’t studied their books,”“But I think they can. I think they all can. The question is different: Can Madrid afford not to buy Haaland? And Barca?”Source Goal"
Raiola is really trying his best to drive up the cost of his client as much as possible and there might be a bidding war upcoming. However, none of that will matter if Dortmund remains unwilling to sell him. The Germans said before that they will not sell the player and Haaland still has three years left on his contract. When asked about the conflicting situation, Raiola responded by saying,
"“What we know as of today is that Dortmund spoke extremely solemnly to us and said: ‘We are not selling him’. That’s the situation, definitely,” That’s what they’ve said. Now let’s see if that desire is still there through to the 1st of September.”“Today, the official stance of Dortmund is this. But I’ve got another view, I think that if a good opportunity comes up and everyone would be happy, we’ll put it on the table.”"
Raiola needs to set up a big transfer deal in order for the move to go through as Dortmund will not be willing to hear anything below the 150 million euros mark. That is the reason why the agent has been traveling to all the elite clubs. Now, could Barcelona afford the player? Well, the answer is maybe.
Should the club find a new sponsorship deal which has been rumored recently, they could very well get Haaland however, the recent stories involving Neymar suggests that Laporta might have changed his interests and is now pursuing the Brazilian. These are exciting times for the club and we must wait and see which big-name player Laporta finally brings into the club.
