The FC Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi, hosted a barbeque get-together for his teammates before encountering the La Liga leaders, Atlético Madrid, next.

More from Everything Barca

After securing three vital points by achieving a 3-2 victory against Valencia at the Estadio de Mestalla on Sunday evening, the squad now looks keen on carrying their recent momentum forward for the most significant game of this season against Atlético Madrid.

Atlético Madrid leads the La Liga standings at the pole position with two more points than Real Madrid and Barcelona. With just four games remaining this season, the top three clubs are willing to leave no stones unturned to bet on their chances of a final day clinch.

Barcelona dropped some vital points after an abysmal crumble against Granada on Matchday 33. The side now needs to focus on every game to hope for securing the league title. The team should concentrate on the philosophy of taking one step at a time. The first step to that will be defeating Diego Simeone’s men and then thinking about the remaining fixtures later.

Lionel Messi’s invitation to Barcelona teammates

Barcelona’s first-team players were cordially invited for a barbeque get-together at the Messi’s. The “bonding barbeque” was attended by the players with their partners. The captain exempted their traditional meet at a restaurant to emphasize more on the aspect of bonding amongst the teammates.

The relationships amongst the players have significantly improved from the start of the season, and now the team chemistry looks to be well balanced. Messi is doing his best to uplift the team’s motivation to deliver the results, now when it matters the most, to not conclude the season empty-handed.

According to the new COVID-19 regulations, there can be six people per table from separate households in open spaces. Marca reported that Ronald Koeman’s men went to Barcelona’s training ground on Monday morning for a recovery session after Sunday’s duel with Los Che.
