After winning the Scudetto, Inter Milan will be subsidizing a bonus to FC Barcelona as a part of their agreement which occurred during the transfer of Arturo Vidal.

More from Everything Barca

Arturo Vidal joined Internazionale on a free transfer a year early before his contract expired at the start of this season. He was informed of not being a part of Ronald Koeman‘s plans. The move finally materialized as Barcelona wanted to get rid of Vidal’s high wages off their books. However, Barça placed a specific term for Inter, that if they were to win the Serie A title, then the Blaugrana would receive a bonus of one million euros.

Barcelona’s gain from Inter’s win

Vidal has been a familiar entity for Italian football as he has been an integral member of the Juventus squad from 2011-15 before joining Bayern Munich. The Chilean has previously won four Serie A titles with The Old Lady. So all that experience made the Inter boss, Antonio Conte, aspire for an aggressive instrumental player like him.

As expected, Vidal became an essential piece for Conte’s schemes. The 33-year-old had started 23 games in the league’s fixtures this season. But sadly, a knee injury accounted for the games he was left out for in the final stretch of the season.

As things played out, the Nerazzurri managed to win the Scudetto this year in some spectacular fashion. Inter was able to defeat Crotone on Match Day 34, alongside to aid them Atalanta drew their fixture which mathematically crowned Inter the title. Inter dethroned Juventus’ claim on the trophy since 2011–12 Serie A season.

This amount would aid Barça, but not enormously, as the club is going through some tough financial situation. The club has drowned in huge debts. To manage the financial catastrophe, Barcelona will be looking to make moves in the transfer market after this season’s conclusion to stabilize the situation.

Do you think Juventus’ domestic reign is succeeded by Inter?
