Ronald Koeman’s first season as Barcelona coach was somewhat a rollercoaster with the squad’s up and down performances. The team was on a hot streak after a poor start to the campaign but started losing when it mattered the most. Financial problems and injury issues have been the club’s biggest drag ever since the Dutchman arrived, which had led him to not have any options in the previous transfer window

However, as of now, the club have already landed two Manchester City players in Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia. Both were free transfers as their contract with the English side was up. Now reports from ESPN suggest that the Catalans are eyeing three more of Pep Guardiola’s men.

Barcelona eye three more Manchester City stars

These reports from SPORT suggest that the Blaugranas are interested in landing central defender Aymeric Laporte, midfielder Ilkay Gundogan and forward Gabriel Jesus. Ronald Koeman is looking to rebuild a thorough squad with depth and all age ranges and these City players have got the energy and experience to match the level of Barcelona.

Multiple reports have also stated that Laporte and Jesus are not happy with the time they get on the pitch. As for Ilkay Gundogan, he was barely a starter in the team over the years. Obviously, these three players have had major parts to play in City’s success but these players feel that they deserve more game time according to their level.

These players will be brilliant additions to the team if they do join the Spanish giants. Gundogan would be a massive figure in the midfield and could be an alternative to Gini Wijnaldum who recently joined Paris Saint-Germain. As for Laporte, he could be the experienced center-back Barcelona are looking for. As for the Brazilian forward Jesus, he could be used on the flanks and be given a bit of freedom to actually express himself on the pitch whereas he’s forced into a system in Manchester.

Hence, Barca are moving in to deal with 3 more of Pep Guardiola’s boys from Manchester. It looks like it’s going to be a very busy transfer window for the Catalan giants.

Which of these players would you like to see at the Nou Camp?
