Sergio Busquets is an interest for several Major League Soccer franchises, who are always keen to add renowned stars of the world. But, reported freshly, all their moves are destined to fail as neither the player nor the club is considering parting ways any time soon.
Busquets- too precious for Barcelona
The Blaugrana representatives have impressed in the continental tournaments representing their nations so far. It is a clear indication of the progress that the recruitment process for the first team is making. During this situation, Busquets has played a vital role as the orchestrator in Spain’s midfield region.
As the captain of his national side, the 32-year-old has won back-to-back man of the match awards in a row. His sharp trait and quick wit have made Spain turn lemons into lemonade. His contract at Barcelona expires in 2023. Certainly, club president Joan Laporta would be more than willing to offer him an extension.
But the engrossing subject to ponder over his extension would be the suggestion from the club to the player to accept a pay cut which will probably be a new deal that includes a 50% pay cut for another two to four years.
Busquets is not alone who will be receiving such a proposal with a wage cut amidst Barça’s financial problems. Spain is just one game away from reaching the finals of Euro 2020. They are ready to meet Italy in the semi-finals on Tuesday at Wembley Stadium.
