The last season for Barcelona was defined by the youngsters who took charge of the team. When Ronald Koeman was appointed as the manager by former president, Josep Bartomeu, the Dutch manager was keen on revitalizing the team. He started off by disposing of the aged players who were no longer required by the club and he brought in 20-year-old Sergino Dest from Ajax.

This was a sign of good things to come as Barca are in a transitional stage where they can no longer rely on the older generation, and they must develop the youths in the academies. Dest was not the only youngster who would go on to enjoy a hearty season, 18 year old Pedri, literally became the heart of the team.

The former UD Palmas man ran the team from the midfield and played over 50 games for the club at the age of only 18 years. He was one of the most standout players from the Catalan side and his amazing work earned him a call from Luis Enrique to represent Spain in Euros 2021.

Apart from Pedri, Oscar Mingueza and Ronald Araujo were also an essential part of the team last season. The two center-backs were thrusted into the first team by Koeman when Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti were both out injured, leaving Barcelona without an experienced center-back to tag with Clement Lenglet. Both of the Barca B players did extremely well on their first-team appearances, and Araujo even earned his place as a regular starter.

Thus with the team now focusing a lot on youth players, it will not be surprising to see a lot of these faces returning to the first eleven next season, or even newcomers joining these youngsters. Thus, here are the top five Barcelona youngsters you should definitely watch next season:
