#3 Sergio Busquets (Spain)

Spain had one of their best international tournaments since their last Euro win in 2012, and Sergio Busquets captained the side in this amazing campaign. He was picked by Luis Enrique to captain the fairly young Spanish side, and even with his years of experience, it was going to be a big responsibility to handle. The 32-year-old missed out on the first two games due to the Coronavirus however, he made a remarkable comeback and played all the remaining games. He led the team into the Semi-finals, where they ultimately succumbed to an incredible Italian side. However, Busquets should be proud of his campaign. He came back from a serious illness to captain his side, he played over 100 minutes on three occasions, and he managed to beat Slovakia 5-0 in his first game after his return. Defensive midfielders are often not given enough credits due to their lack of goals or assists; however, Busquets did his job quite well and he might even captain the team in the upcoming 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup.
