Jose Mourinho, the newly appointed manager of Roma, is rumoured to be a fan of the French defender and wants to bring him to Italy.
However, Barca have rejected the initial bid of 15 million Euros. According to the report, the deal included Lorenzo Pellegrini also, but Barcelona believe that the fee was not enough.
The Catalonian club is open to selling the 26-year old, but they need a bid upward of 25 million Euros.
Barcelona say no to Roma for Clement Lenglet
If Roma want the Centre-Back they will have to move as quickly as possible, because clubs like West Ham and Everton are also interested in bringing him to the club. Both the clubs have made a loan bid with an option to buy.
The club may, however, want to hold on to the centre-back if Samuel Umiti, who is rumoured to leave the club, decides to move on. The former Sevilla defender is a senior member of the squad and can help younger players like Eric Garcia and Oscar Mingueza grow and improve.
Lenglet may be however pushed out if the rumoured move for Ayermic Laporte goes through.
If the club does receive a suitable for him, they might not have an option but to let him go, not only because of their financial situation but also because Lenglet wants to move to a club where he is guaranteed more game time. He, however, has not ruled out staying at the club if he is guaranteed more game time by Ronald Koeman.
Do you think Barca should consider selling Clement Lenglet or do you think they should hold on to him because of his obvious experience? It is important to remember that Barcelona are looking to lower the wage bill as they want to retain Lionel Messi and register their new players.
