Manchester City and Chelsea eye Barcelona youngster
Barcelona youngster, Ilaix Moriba, has still not confirmed his future with Barcelona, and could be headed to a different club if negotiations do not come to a conclusion soon. According to GOAL, the player was unhappy with the wages being offered to him by the Catalans, and was thus stalling the deal in order to get a better offer. However, given Barca’s financial records, it is not very likely for them to give him a better deal, due to this, clubs such as Manchester City and Chelsea have already started looking into the matter, hoping to steal him from the Catalans when the time is right.
Moriba was one of the players who received a lot of support from Koeman last season. Since the arrival of the former club legend as their manager, the club has been focused solely on youth player development. The manager has decided that he needs to revitalize the whole team, and that can only be done with the injection of youths into the team. Players such as Pedri, Oscar Mingueza, Ronald Araujo, Sergino Dest, Moriba, and Ansu Fati were given a lot of preference by the manager, and they repaid his trust by providing stellar performances.

Moriba at the age of 18 was one of the best young players at the club, and his playstyle even brought comparisons to Paul Pogba, the central midfielder has the ability to carry the ball forward with ease, and has the vision to give defense opening passes. He is quite precise with his right foot and can send a devastating strike to put the ball at the back of the net. His skills and abilities got him the playtime last season, and he could be a big part of the team in the next season.
Barcelona growing tired of the delay in Ilaix Moriba’s renewal
However, the player is not willing to extend his contract and the Premier League giants are closing in on him. He is not one of the players that the Catalans are looking to sell, however, a sale would also do them good as it would open up some room to register one of their new signings. The Catalans need to sell some of their players anyway, and although losing Moriba would not be ideal, it could also be a blessing in disguise.
Should Barca improve their offer for Ilaix or risk losing him?
