Barcelona have had a tough time maintaining their finances and as a result, they have had to make some tough calls. Unwillingly, they have had to let go of their club talisman which, therefore, brought an end to Lionel Messi‘s illustrious career at the Camp Nou.
Besides A-listers like Messi and Griezmann, the club also had to let go of another midfielder as Miralem Pjanic joined Besiktas on a season-long loan deal. As per the loan deal, the Turkish side have agreed to pay one-third of his salary and are expected to keep him till June 30, 2022.
Miralem Pjanic has spoken about his estranged relationship with Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman

The Bosnian international is currently away with his national side for the ongoing World Cup qualifiers and will join the Black Eagles after the international break. In a recent interview with Marca, the 31-year-old spoke about his problems at Camp Nou and was highly critical of Ronald Koeman.
His relationship with the Dutchman wasn’t the best as when he was asked that whether he was disrespected at the club or not,he replied :
"By the coach, yes. Yes."
Speaking about Koeman, he also said :
"I don’t know what he wanted exactly. He didn’t try to explain things to me or find a solution. I would go to ask him what he wanted from me, positionally or what I was doing well or badly.I wanted to adapt as quickly as possible to the team and be useful. You need 17 or 18 players from a squad to win titles. He didn’t have problems with my play and didn’t give me answers. Time went on and the situation went from bad to worse, without any reason."
It is important to remember that Koeman has had his share of tussles with some of his squad players. Earlier in January, the Dutchman had a fallout with youngster Riqui Puig and was reportedly in favour of offloading the star from the club.
Keeping aside all the controversies, Barca fans would now hope that their side finds some stability going forward this season. In this post-Messi era, the club has already begun rebuilding the squad and now would look to light up the Camp Nou with quality signings in the near future.
