Barcelona youngster and rising superstar, Gavi, has exploded onto the national team with a stellar performance last night. The Spanish national team took on the European Champions, Italy, and this time they came back with a win. The Italians had knocked out the Spaniards in the Euros however, it took them extra time and penalties to win. Spain on the other hand, with an injury-ridden squad, managed to beat Italy 2-1.

Without the likes of Alvaro Morata, Pedri, etc, the Spanish side had to bring in new and young players. Gavi was one such player brought in to play in the midfield. He is only 17 years old and his debut for Spain makes him the youngest ever player in Spain’s entire history. The player is an amazing product from the La Masia academy and he is one of the most rapidly rising players in the European sphere.

His start against Italy raised a few eyebrows but it was an absolute treat for the Barca fans. The player was given his first-ever start for Spain and he already seemed like he was at home with the team. He was quick on his feet, did not take unnecessary risks, played a few great through balls, and had a chance on goal but decided to play a safe pass instead of taking a shot. He seems to be very comfortable on the ball but as time goes by, his confidence needs to grow, he needs to take some shots and try more daring through balls.

The best part about the player, however, is his dedication and motivation. The player is ready for the big games and he shows his passion through his work rate. Gavi was not only helping out the attack but also tirelessly helping out the defense as well. He made a lot of important tackles and was winning the ball back cleanly in the midfield. His passion shows his commitment to the team, and to win against the Champions of Europe is not a small task at all.

Gavi played against some of the best players in the world yesterday like Jorginho, Federico Chiesa, Marco Verratti, etc, and he came out on top. He was the one to watch throughout the match and this is just the beginning. He will continue to grow and develop and will undoubtedly become a Spanish legend in the future.
