Barcelona linked Xavi talks about Paul Pogba and Kylian Mbappe

Xavi Hernandez and Barcelona have been in the news all throughout the week due to the sudden departure of Ronald Koeman from the Catalan club. After their defeat against Rayo Vallecano, the Barca board had decided that enough was enough, and that Koeman was not the right man for the job. After he was let go, rumors and speculations have favored only one man and that is Xavi. The current Al Sadd coach is expected to take over the flattering Spanish team soon; however, no particular date has been set as of now. According to top journalists like Fabrizio Romano, Xavi will be the next manager and we should expect his arrival in a few weeks.

Right now, the Barca team is full of youngsters with high potential, however, every new manager will want to set his own mark by bringing in players that they know can improve the club. In a team like Barcelona however, only the best of the best can survive. Although Kylian Mbappe and Paul Pogba are considered two of the best players in the world, according to Barcelona’s to-be coach, they are more physically impressive than naturally talented. In an interview with Journal du Dimanche in 2018, the legend said,

"“He [Mbappe] is a formidable 19-year-old striker, who has shown great things to PSG and will continue to improve.“Mbappe will be one of the cracks of tomorrow. But I find him more physical than talented, like Pogba I think, even if I have not seen him play this season.”"

Since then, however, France went on to win the World Cup and Mbappe has been on the Ballon d’Or list as well. He is considered one of the best young players in the world and maybe Xavi has changed his mind about the French player. However, Pogba has not helped himself as he struggled with Manchester United and France as well. Barca does not have the cash to go for either of the players but as things stand, it seems like Xavi is not interested in either of the players as well.
