Barcelona and Chelsea are two teams who have not done a lot of deals in the past. Most deals that they have done have all gone Chelsea’s way with the likes of Pedro and Cesc Fabregas both moving from Spain to London. However, now it seems as if the tides have turned and Barca could end up acquiring some players from the Champions of Europe instead. While the Blues do not have the best team in the world, their defense is certainly commendable and players such as Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, and Cesar Azpilicueta are some of the best in their respective positions.

The three above-mentioned players also happen to be on their last few months with the club and although the London side has been negotiating new contracts with them, no new progress has been made and it seems like the players are ready to leave. Now, in all fairness, Rudiger will probably be a bit too unrealistic since his wage demands are way too high, even for Bayern Munich but Christensen and Azpilicueta could be brought to the club. Cesar is a brilliant leader and one of the best one on one defenders in the Premier League. With Sergino Dest going out of favor, the Chelsea captain could be a good temporary fix until a younger alternative is secured.

Christensen on the other hand is a great centre-back but has some problems with his fitness. He is brilliant when he is fit and his performance at the Euros can justify that sentiment however, he needs to work on his fitness and not get injured so often. He is also a good bet for Barca since Chelsea will try to go for Jules Kounde again and Christensen has stated that if he does not remain at his current club, he will not join any other Premier League club out of respect. Barca will try to outbid Chelsea for Kounde however, given their current financial strength, the free transfers make a lot more sense.
