Barcelona is a team with many youngsters at the moment and these youngsters have made quite an impact on the first team. The transition from a tram with aged players to completely new faces is a tough one however, Xavi Hernandez, has a little bit of a headstart since Ronald Koeman already started the work for him in 2020. When Koeman was announced as the manager, the club had almost no money left and thus the Dutch manager had to use what he had. He developed quite a few youngsters and they are now playing in the first team regularly.

One such player who was given his first-team debut by Koeman is Ronald Araujo. The 6ft 1inch tall Uruguayan defender was given a place within the team out of desperation since Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti were both injured. This turned out to be a brilliant decision in the long run since the centre-back has shown his potential and is regarded as one of the future faces of Barca. The youngster soon became one of the main players in the first team and the Catalans definitely want to keep him at the club. The 23-year old’s contract will be expiring next year and according to Barca enthusiast, Reshad Rahman, Manchester United are considering the player.

Araujo has not only impressed his Barca coaches but scouts from other teams as well. Earlier this year there were rumours about the player being linked with Chelsea and now it seems as if United are also interested in the player. Journalist Fabrizio Romano, via Rahman, has mentioned that the Uruguayan has not rejected any offers so far and that negotiations are going smoothly. Still, the Catalans need to finish the negotiations, as soon as possible, and try to avoid another disastrous situation like the Ousmane Dembele situation.
