Barcelona made an offer to this player but Bayern Munich also interested

In a recent tweet made by famous transfer specialist, Fabrizio Romano, the Italian claimed that Barcelona has already offered a 5 million euros per season contract to Noussair Mazraoui. The Ajax right-back was made one of the targets for next season by the Catalan team and it seems as if they are trying to negotiate a contract quickly so that they do not have to bother too much about this deal next season. The player currently has less than six months left in his contract and he has made it clear that he will not be re-signing with Ajax. This gives Barca a huge chance and they would really benefit from having a new full-back.

The Catalans currently have two right-backs in their squad, Dani Alves and Sergino Dest. While Dest is the younger option of the two and should be playing more regularly, that is not the case since he has not been able to perform according to expectations. The American player has not adapted well to life at Barca and even though Xavi Hernandez wants to give a new chance, bringing in a replacement seems more viable. Alves has been playing most of the match and Dest is only used when there is an injury in the left-back or right-back position.

Barcelona has submitted an official payment plan for Noussair Mazraoui.

The problem now remains with the fact that Alves is 38 years old and can no longer perform like he used to back in his prime. The Blaugrana need a younger replacement fast and that is why they are planning on going for Mazraoui. They are also planning on going for Cesar Azpilicueta and if they can secure both the signings, then they can offload Dest from the club. However, Romano also reported that  Bayern Munich are interested in the player as well and that could be a huge issue for the Catalans. Barca does not have the financial power to fight against the German side however, the club is still one of the best clubs in the world and playing for Barca is a lot of players’ dreams. We have to now wait and see what the player decides.
