Barcelona finally confirms their Spotify deal to fans
While this deal was confirmed a long time ago, Barcelona themselves never revealed it or its details. The deal we are talking about is the main sponsors of the team from next season onwards. We all know that Rakuten has no intentions of extending their deal with the club and their relationship sort of soured near the end. Barca is one of the two biggest teams in the world and they have a responsibility to choose a wholesome partner, who will also bring is some big money to the club. After going through a lot of offers, the Catalans have finally settled for the Swedish music company, Spotify.
This will be the first time in the history of the club that the stadium will be renamed as well due to the sponsors. Spotify agreed to a massive deal with the club that makes them the main sponsors for the club for four years. Not only will the music company be on the front of the men’s team and women’s team match shirt, but they will also be the main sponsor on the training shirts. Apart from that, the Camp Nou will also be called the Spotify Camp Nou and the music giants will take an active role in developing the project Espai Barca.
The Catalans claim on their website that the club and the sponsors share the same philosophy which is connecting people and they will together work on more sponsorships but keeping their values in mind. Joan Laporta was delighted to reveal the news to the fans and claimed that this is a new era for the club and that the Blaugranas are evolving with the changing world. Connectivity with others and understanding others is what the world needs and what better way to connect than with music.
We hope that this sponsorship will be the start of something beautiful in the city of Catalunya and we cannot wait to see the renovations done to the stadium with the money that Spotify will bring in.
