Barcelona is still working through the Ousmane Dembele situation. A situation that could have been easily avoided has now escalated to an epic proportion and the club could end up losing a lot of money if they do not somehow convince him to stay at the club. The Frenchman was brought into the Catalan side for 100 million euros. The player was expected to be the next Neymar Jr. however, multiple injuries and other obstacles prevented the player from reaching his full potential. He was on the bench so much that Ronald Koeman did not even want him in his team last season.

The player was allowed to leave last season but he refused to do so. He was then told to leave this winter when his negotiations went haywire. However, once again he refused to leave which means that he will be able to walk out of the club for free next season. That is something Barca wanted to avoid and they want to avoid that even more since he has found a new form under Xavi Hernandez. The manager wants him to stay, his team wants him to stay and Pedri became the latest player to give his take on the Dembele situation. In an interview with La Vanguardia, he said,

"“I have a very good relationship with him and he is a crazy player,”“You don’t know if he’s going to go left or the right, he goes whichever way he wants, and it’s a joy to have him. Sometimes I do joke with him about his future, but it’s a decision he has to make himself.”_Source Marca via La Vanguardia"

At this point, there is no certainty about Dembele’s future. The player could sign a new contract or he could end up going away for free which would be a huge loss. There have been rumours that Paris Saint-Germain is after him but his first choice is still Barca. However, if the player cannot reduce his demands drastically, then there will be no space for him in the club.
