Barcelona president confirms that he wants four new players
Barcelona president, Joan Laporta, is a powerful and determined person. He is a goal-driven person, one who wants to fulfil his role in a strong and emphatic fashion. From the moment the president was elected, he took strong actions and even though some of his actions seemed a bit harsh at that time, they have come to fruition now. A leader like Laporta is not afraid to take drastic measures and is not afraid to face criticism. Laporta knows that he needs to bring in new players to fight in today’s world and that is exactly what he will do.
In order to win the league next season, Barcelona will bring four new players
Laporta started his renovation of the club by bringing in Xavi Hernandez. After that, he gave Xavi the players that he desired including the likes of Ferran Torres, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Adama Traore. However, in an interview with Mundo Deportivo, he claimed that he plans on bringing four more players next season. He said,
"“We will complete at least four signings (in the summer transfer window), the idea is to reinforce the attack, midfield and defence.”“We are working on the financial issue and obtaining more resources to have the salary margin we need,”_Source News18 via Mundo Deportivo"
Barca has already secured one player for next season, Franck Kessie. The AC Milan midfielder was a hot prospect and a lot of teams wanted to sign him but the Catalans were the ones to win the race. Now, after the midfielder has been sorted, Barca is planning on fixing the defence by bringing in Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta. While Christensen will be easy to secure, Azpilicueta will be a bit more complicated due to a clause in his contract. Apart from these two players, the Blaugrana also wants to bring in a new superstar player who will score a lot of goals. While Erling Haaland is their preferred choice, Robert Lewandowski, Mohamed Salah and Kylian Mbappe are also being scouted.
