One of the main reasons why Barcelona has managed to survive the renovation phase so well is because of their amazing youngsters. Players like Pedri, Ronald Araujo, Ansu Fati and Gavi have really stepped up and shown the world what the next generation of Barca players have to offer. Players such as Pedri and Fati are already some of the best in the world and their ability to understand the game is second to none. These players are truly special and the Catalans must protect them at all cost thus, it must be a bit of a worry for them because two of their main players will become free agents in 2023.
Both Araujo and Gavi are going to become free agents by the end of the next season and that is something the Catalans must avoid. According to reports, the defender and the midfielder were both offered new contracts by the club however, both of them refused to sign the contracts due to the offer not meeting their demands. Whether this was about the wage or any other criteria is unknown at the moment. This was a setback in Xavi Hernandez’s plans since he wants to secure these youngsters and build the team around them.
Now, it seems like the manager is ready to negotiate himself. According to Diario Sport, Xavi plans on speaking to Gavi’s manager himself and discussing the player’s future in Barcelona. The player will be a prominent figure in Xavi’s team for the years to come and under proper guidance, he could even go on to become one of the best in the world. Xavi has apparently been talking to potential transfer targets as well, and according to the manager, no one has rejected a potential move to Barca.
Thus, not only is Xavi a great manager, but he is a great communicator as well and we hope that he can convince Gavi to stay back at Barca.
