When Xavi announced the Barcelona touring squad for the USA, Estanis Pedrola’s name was nowhere to be found. It was revealed that Pedrola was to stay in Spain while Football Director Mateu Alemany found a suitable loan placement for him.

According to Mundo Deportivo, there are a number of teams fighting for his signature.

The management team consider Pedrola to be one of the more promising youngsters to come out of the famed La Massia academy but understands that in order for him to continue his development, he needs first-team minutes at the senior level.

He’ll struggle to achieve that with the Blaugrana considering the strength in depth the senior side has in the forward positions.

Pedrola can play on either wing, but the right-footed forward prefers to cut inside from the left. The Cambrils man scored 9 times for Barça Atlètic last season in the third tier of Spanish football, and Barcelona believes he’s ready to make the step up, whether that’s in La Liga or abroad.

Plenty of teams are interested in signing Estanis Pedrola on loan

According to the report, there are a number of teams interested in signing Pedrola on a season-long loan, with Italian side Lecce among the favourites.

The Italian side scraped to survival last year, finishing in 16th place in Serie A, two spots and just 5 points above the relegation zone.

Part of I Giallorossi’s problem was a lack of attacking intent. Their 46 goals scored were the 2nd lowest in the league, and manager Roberto D’Aversa has identified Pedrola as a solution to the problem,

If Lecce are to secure his signature, they’ll need to fight off competition from a host of clubs in Spain.

Osasuna, Cadiz, Alavés, Valladolid and Elche have all been named as possible destinations. It’s also reported that Pedrola likes the idea of joining fellow Barça Atlètic player Pablo Torre on loan at Girona, just an hour’s drive north of Barcelona.

Pedrola may not be the only young attacking forward to go out on Loan. Abde Ezzalzouli will be given every chance to impress this pre-season having been included in the tour squad, but he may end up falling victim to the numbers game.

Barcelona have Ansu Fati, Ferran Torres, Ousmane Dembélé and Raphinha occupying senior places in the forward line. Considering Xavi likes to play a false winger on the left by inserting Gavi there, minutes are going to be hard to come by unless a player leaves.

Next. Could Raphinha be the key to Bernardo Silva transfer. dark
