While FC Barcelona's 2024/25 campaign has been brilliant this far, the injury conditions at the club have been a major concern for them. Although with Hansi Flick's incoming as the new lead, major improvements have been recorded, the club's injury scenarios have mostly stayed the same, if not worsened. Given that they had star players Gavi, de Jong, and Ronald Araujo injured, the Blaugrana club has further faced the injuries of stars Dani Olmo, Fermin Lopez, and Club Captain Ter Stegen.
€55M versatile superstar soon to receive medical clearance for injury return
However, as the club approaches the end of the international break and La Liga action continues, they expect a major boost in their squad strength. As per reports, Barca's €55M superstar signing, Dani Olmo, and their breakout star, Fermin Lopez, would return for their upcoming fixture against Sevilla, with ace midfielder Gavi being close to returning as well.
While definitely prodigy star Fermin Lopez could be crucial for the club, Dani Olmo's return promises much, being an expected starter in Barca's current XI. Not to forget, the Spaniard, in his first 3 appearances this season, had a goal in each, including his debut goal that won the club a difficult game against Rayo, and thus could work wonders for Barca in his injury return.
Moreover, the attacking midfield star's recovery updates sound much more positive, with him having returned back to group training. As per reports from journalist Adria Albets, Olmo, alongside Gavi and Fermin, trained with the group on the grass this morning. In fact, as things stand, the three midfield stars would get medically discharged on Sunday.
However, while certainly, these updates sound much more exciting on the player's return, it is clear that, like other Barca injury returnees, Olmo will be slowly transitioned into the setup. FC Barcelona, being in no hurry to rush him, knowing his previous muscle injuries, might not utilize him to his true potential in the Sevilla game. As per Barca insider Javi Miguel, Olmo is expected to play around 20 minutes in the fixture, just getting enough time to get back the match rhythm.
Overall, Dani Olmo's return, who had kickstarted his Barcelona season in full swing, would be a massive boost for the club's forward play. FC Barcelona fans would hope that the Spanish superstar returns to his best level soon, as the club lines up against some of the biggest European teams ahead, facing Sevilla, Bayern, and Real Madrid next.
