FC Barcelona's 2024/25 summer transfer window was much convincing. Completing the signing of their dream prospect Dani Olmo while managing their financial fair playbills by making a few crucial departures of Julian Araujo and Mika Faye, the club's transfer window performance was impressive.

However, being not in the best of financial conditions, even after a few sales, the club had to halt a few player signing operations. Among their wishlist, the Blaugrana club had been targeting a left-wing reinforcement and a prospect signing for the club's right-back role. Though at that time, the club failed to complete these requirements, reports suggest they have similar desires for the next summer.

So far, FC Barcelona's 2024/25 season has been brilliant, with the club in a comfortable position at the La Liga table-top. While the club's front three have been stupendous this season, one of their most consistent performers for the club has been their seasoned full-back, Jules Kounde. However, reports still suggest that although Hansi Flick is very satisfied with Kounde's performance, he thinks FC Barcelona needs another right back.

In fact, reports from Diario SPORT mention that the German mastermind, Flick, considers a right-back reinforcement much more important than signing a top-winger. However, while this comes a bit shocking, this isn't surprising, as, in the last few days of this summer window, the club tried to sign right-back Marc Pubill but had to halt due to financial constraints.

As per recent reports, the club, being optimistic about improving financial conditions, has identified another key prospect for their right-back role. Tiago Santos, a 22-year-old Portuguese prodigy, is reported to be on the club's shortlist for the role. Considering his offensive prowess and defensive positioning, FC Barcelona is very interested in the Lille full-back.

So far this season, Tiago's dynamic performances have already made him a high-value prospect, with many clubs targeting him. Given this, although FC Barcelona is aware of the fact that he won't come easy, the club has already inquired about the player via his agent Jorge Mendes, being confident that they would be able to afford him next summer.

Currently, any further updates on Tiago's Barca links are yet to arrive, but given the Catalan club's interest in the prodigy, a move might be carved soon. While it still remains to be seen whether Hansi Flick eyes him as a backup option for Jules Kounde or a starter in the role, shifting Kounde to the center-back, the player's potential move would be considerably favorable for the club.
