Having joined Barca's youth ranks in July 2000 and becoming the greatest ever to feature in the sport, Messi's journey has been a treat for football fans around the globe. Of the 37-year-old ace's illustrious career, decorated with a humongous 46 trophies, Messi's Barcelona career has been one of the best phases in his career.

However, recently, Barca's sporting director, and then Messi's teammate, Deco, has opened up about how people knew that the Argentine would go on to become one of the greatest ever. Praising the all-time Barca legend, Deco remarked,

""We watched him in training and knew how good he was; different people fool no one; you can see that from the first minute. This is something you can see in people who have that magic touch, that exceptional talent from others; you see it from the beginning.""

Moreover, while acknowledging the WC winner's exceptional brilliance, Deco stressed how he was different from some of the best goal-scorers in history, like all-time superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. Deco said,

""Cristiano Ronaldo often relied on dribbling on the flanks, then turned into a distinguished scorer. As for Messi, Leo was with that magic touch from the beginning, and he continued to play as he did since the first day we saw him.""

Leo Messi, even though he was forced to make a move out of FC Barcelona in 2021, remains and will continue to be the club's greatest ever produced talent. In fact, the Argentine star also considers the same affection, even today, for the Blaugrana club, quite evident from his gestures. Recently, speaking in an interview, Messi remarked,

""Argentina and Barcelona are my home.""
