One Barcelona star may see his future complicated by hesitancy from the club. The Blaugrana have had an interesting summer transfer window so far, and one that will split opinion between supporters.
Barca snapped up Anthony Gordon instantly, but they have since taken a rather passive approach, all the while searching for a new striker to replace Robert Lewandowski. Barca allowed their option to buy Marcus Rashford to expire and passed up chances to sign Bernardo Silva and Marc Cucurella, who have both since joined Real Madrid.
More decisions remain on the table, and one of them is La Masia product Marc Casadó.
Premier League comes calling for Casadó
Casadó faces an interesting future, and we don't know if it will be at Camp Nou. The Blaugrana have used the youngster frequently, although he hasn't been first choice consistently in the midfield.
Casadó made 24 LaLiga appearances in the season just gone, but only 10 of those were starts, and while he is only 22 years of age and still developing, it's not clear he will be more involved next season.
If more football is not forthcoming, Casadó may well ask to move on, although it has been reported he would prefer a loan deal to keep his chances of becoming a nailed on starter at Barca alive.
But a fresh report from Mundo Deportivo has claimed there is interest from Manchester United, Bayer Leverkusen and clubs from Saudi Arabia this summer.
Barca will have to think carefully if they receive an approach for Casadó this summer. The youngster clearly has big potential, but perhaps unable to offer him the football he wants, there is a complicated situation in the making.
A loan might suit all parties, but clubs like Manchester United are not going to be interested in that, and it would mean Flick needs to find a replacement before the new season.
Leverkusen may be a more likely loan, but if there is only a market for a permanent move, Barca will have to decide whether to take such a big risk, given Casadó could go on to become a star elsewhere. He already looks like a very competent midfielder and we are still very early in his development.
Barca have cleverly inserter buy-back options in such sale deals in the past, but again, while they might get away with that with a club like Leverkusen, clubs like Manchester United will only settle for an outright purchase.
This is one to keep an eye on this summer.
