According to many reports in Spain, Roony Bardghji is set to depart from Barcelona in the summer. The young attacker seeks regular playing time in order to continue developing his game, while at the same time, he is aware of the fact that it is extremely unlikely he will get his chance to break into the starting XI any time soon.

Lamine Yamal is set in stone as Barcelona's right-winger and leaves very little to no room for rotation.

Hansi Flick admires the teenager for his work rate, professionalism and attitude during training, yet, has been completely transparent with him during recent interactions. The German clearly stated that it will be exceptionally difficult to guarantee him playing time at the right wing next season.

Analysing the transfer formula

Barcelona and Bardghji's agents are currently analysing the market and seeking the ideal solution. The player favors a direct loan move to a European club that could offer him anywhere between 30-40 starts next season before he returns to Barcelona more mature and experienced.

However, the Blaugrana's financial constraints force the club to also analyse the option of a permanent move in order to generate revenue that will be used for the summer market's transfer budget.

Barcelona's board acknowledges the potential and talent that the teenager possesses and would therefore not settle for a standard transfer, should they opt for a sale. Instead, they will include protective clauses in any potential deal.

  • A buy-back option for an agreed sum of money valid for the first two or three seasons.
  • A high percentage sell on clause, like 20-30% in case his new club decides to move him on.

The actual context of the Barca squad

It's clear, under Flick, what it takes to play on the wings for Barcelona. Yamal has reached an unbelievable world class level at a quick pace, meaning backup wingers will have to be satisfied with a limited role in the squad or move elsewhere for development. Barcelona's new transfer in the wing position has even made it more difficult for Roony to breakthrough.

Bardghji doesn't want to waste a year of his career on the bench and regardless if it's a direct loan move or a managed sale, a move seems beneficial for all parties.
