Barcelona’s pursuit of the next Brazilian gem appears to have hit a stumbling block, with several Premier League clubs now entering the race to sign Eduardo Conceição.

Everything Barca established in a previous report that Barcelona have held negotiations with the representatives of the player and Palmeiras for his signature when he becomes legal and available to move at the age of 18.

The young attacker is yet to make his senior debut, spending most of this season with Palmeiras’ under-20 side. However, it was his standout performances at the Under-17 World Cup that truly put him on the radar of Europe’s elite clubs.

Premier League clubs are calling?

Manchester United, Manchester City and Newcastle United are all believed to be battling Barcelona for one of South America’s brightest prospects.

While reports suggest the player favours a move to Barcelona, drawn by the club’s rich history with Brazilian stars, Manchester City may hold a decisive edge. Their strong relationship with Palmeiras, built through successful deals for Gabriel Jesus and more recently Vitor Reis, has created a level of trust that could prove crucial. City view this as an ongoing partnership they can continue to leverage.

Pep Guardiola’s side are reportedly ready to table a €40 million offer, looking to fast-track negotiations and capitalise on Barcelona’s ongoing financial constraints and squad registration issues.

However, the situation is not without complications. City themselves face uncertainty over a potential points deduction that could even result in relegation. With the player unable to move until he turns 18, the timing of any sanctions could ultimately influence the appeal and feasibility of a deal.

Who knows? Maybe in a month, Barcelona may release information to indicate a Brazilian is on their way to the Camp Nou and Everything Barcelona can publish an article on who is best and worst signings from the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A.

An R9 or Ronaldinho in the making or are we stuck with another Vitor Roque. Too much promise and expectation placed on young shoulders.
