FC Barcelona's 2024/25 campaign has been spectacular so far, much better than the fans would have expected. Having won 11 out of 12 La Liga matches while being in brilliant form in the UCL campaign, the Blaugrana club has been performing excellently this season. More importantly, under Hansi Flick, FC Barcelona has easily dominated their opponents this far, having scored more times this season than any other European club.

In fact, while some people had doubted the side's credibility, the Blaugrana club defeated two of the best European clubs, Bayern and Real Madrid, consecutively, establishing sheer dominance this season. However, it seems that the losses haven't been received well by these clubs, in particular by Bayern, whose all-time legend has made a bold claim now.

Having hosted the 3rd UCL matchday against Bayern, even though FC Barcelona had a subtle start to the fixture, they came back strongly after Kane's equalizer. Putting three more against German great Manuel Neuer, the Blaugrana club thrived under the leadership of Club Captain Raphinha, who delivered a hattrick masterclass to win it for his side. More importantly, the Blaugrana club outplayed Bayern in the remaining opponents, with them having destroyed their opposition backline.

However, recently, some days after the fixture, Bayern legend Lothar Matthaus made it clear that while Barca defeated Bayern 4-1 this time, it won't happen ever again. Pointing out the new setup's inexperience under a new manager, the former Bayern star said it is normal to not have everything in place. In Matthaus' words,

""After only two months with a new manager and a new system, it's normal for not everything to be perfect. Bayern would not lose against Barça 4-1 again.""

While certainly FC Barcelona got the better of Bayern Munich in this clash, Matthaus's claim is well supported by the club's brilliant record against Barca. So far in all their UCL meetings, the Blaugrana club has only had 3 wins against the German Giants, meanwhile having lost 11 times. However, interestingly, on the last two occasions, Barca defeated Bayern; they lifted the UCL trophy and would hope to do so this time, being in excellent form this season.
