Anthony Gordon is bound to complete the next chapter of his career in Spain. Much like Marcus Rashford, he will move from the North of England to the capital of Catalonia. Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the ball will continue rolling today.
Posting to X (formerly Twitter), Romano indicated that Gordon will land in Barcelona just after lunch today (Thursday). Medical tests are booked in to be completed this afternoon.

Anthony Gordon is pencilled in to play for England at the 2026 World Cup, where he will look to make a name for himself. By then, Barça hope to have his immediate future secured.

With just eight goal contributions to his name in the Premier League (six goals, two assists), it's fair to say that his output has been underwhelming. However, we must consider the Newcastle tax here; the Magpies have been underwhelming as a collective, and they may have been focused on other competitions, rightly or wrongly.
Notably, Gordon excelled in the Champions League. With 10 goals and two assists in the Champions League this season, Gordon proved that he has the minerals to perform on the big stage. This is perhaps why he was selected in Thomas Tuchel's first World cup squad.
Barcelona were eliminated from the knockouts of the Champions League by Diego Simeone's Atlético Madrid, a side that is universally known for its strict defensive regimen.
