FC Barcelona's 2024/25 campaign so far has been brilliant. Sitting at the top of the La Liga table, having 24 points from the nine matchdays, and off to their first 3 points in UCL, the club's performances have been spectacular. Moreover, being a brilliant team effort, all the Blaugrana club players have been crucial in the club's success so far this season.

Although things seem to be going perfectly, the way the Catalan club has been dominating their opponents, there is room for improvement, and Hansi Flick knows that. Not to forget, one of the major priorities of FC Barcelona ahead of the 2024/25 season was to complete a full-back signing, regarding which they had been linked with prospects like Marc Pubill. Unfortunately, due to critical financial conditions, the club had to back off from any such reinforcement.

However, recent reports suggest that the club still feels interested in recruiting young talents who can significantly contribute to the wingback roles. As per Diario SPORT, FC Barcelona has prioritized the signings of young prodigies that would be able to contribute to the first team, like Marc Pubill and Álvaro Carreras. While there have been links associated with right-back Marc Pubill, the Blaugrana club's interest in young talent, Carreras seems exciting.

In fact, despite having stars like Alejandro Balde and prodigy Gerard Martin, Barca is following Carreras for the left-back role, as per Portuguese source O Jogo. The 21-year-old Benfica full-back, being brilliant in the left flank for the club this season, has established himself as one of the best prodigy talents in the role. Being a Manchester United academy graduate, the left-back is displaying his potential at Benfica this season.

Currently, the player's Barcelona links are in the initial stages; however, the Catalan side would want to acquire such a rare talent in the upcoming transfer window. However, it definitely won't come easy as many clubs, including Real Madrid and Manchester United themselves, are interested in the player, with the Red Devils having a buy-back clause on the 21-year-old. While it remains to be seen how Barca's chances unfold in Carreras' case, he could be a brilliant addition if he arrives.
