FC Barcelona's 2024/25 campaign so far has been brilliant. Having dominated most of their opponents so far, the Blaugrana club finds themselves in the La Liga table-top position. Be it the club's attacking front, their midfield compartment, or their rock-solid defense, the unit has very well responded under Hansi Flick.

However, while the Catalan club has looked unstoppable this season, they are much aware that there could be improvisations in some key aspects. Considering the same, the club has been monitoring full-back reinforcements after they had to halt a signing in the summer due to financial constraints. In fact, recent reports suggest that apart from prodigy candidates like Álvaro Carreras and Marc Pubill, the club is targeting a superstar for the role.

As per Mundo Deportivo reports, 23-year-old Bayern Munich superstar Alphonso Davies has been a potential target that Barca is eyeing for their left-back role. Davies, being one of the best wing full-backs currently, known for his explosive pace and defensive physicalities, is monitored by FC Barcelona for next summer.

Considering that the ace left-back's Bayern contract expires in June 2025, and any contract renewal talks between him and the club stand held, Barca believes there may be options to get him. In fact, Diario SPORT's reports suggest that Barca's sporting director, Deco, believes Alphonso Davies is a necessary signing for the club's future. Having already held a meeting in February this year, the Barcelona icon has been really interested in signing Davies.

However, that certainly won't come easy as various clubs, including their Clasico rivals Real Madrid, monitor the player's situation. Even before Barca's rumors with the Canadian ace started, Davies had been long linked to a Real Madrid move, and thus, the full-back's Barca move would certainly demand a hefty salary, even more than €20 million a year. But still, the Blaugrana club, knowing that he hasn't joined Madrid yet or renewed with Bayern, has kept tabs open on the superstar.

As per the current scenario, FC Barcelona's situation in Alphonso Davies' saga seems a bit flaccid, with clubs like Real Madrid and Bayern much ahead. However, given the Blaugrana club's desire to reinforce their left-back role next summer, they might arrange Davies' move, reuniting him with Flick, the duo that had worked wonders at Bayern Munich.
