Coming on the back of dominant displays against Sevilla and Alaves, high hopes were from FC Barcelona against Bayern, and they delivered the same. Although the German giants, as expected, caused considerable trouble to the Blaugrana club in the initial minutes, the way Barca returned in the fixture was commendable.

Despite having lost their early lead within the first 20 minutes, FC Barcelona came back much stronger. With young prodigies like Lamine Yamal, Pedri, and Marc Casado controlling the game, guided in the presence of seasoned stars Raphinha, Jules Kounde, and Inigo, the side marched home with all three points, defeating Bayern 4-1 at the Montjuic.
Certainly, a victory to celebrate, Barca boss Hansi Flick seemed very pleased with his side's display in most aspects. Speaking after the fixture, Flick mentioned,
""I'm very happy. Everyone can see the quality of these players... You could see it in the second half when we were able to pass and maintain possession.""

While certainly credit needs to be given to the whole lineup for responding brilliantly the way they did, special praise needs to be showered on Club Captain Raphinha, who was outstanding in the fixture. In his 100th appearance for FC Barcelona, the Brazilian ace, marking a hattrick, outplayed Bayern's defense, playing a crucial role in Barca's 4-1 win. Hansi Flick praised the wing star, mentioning,
""I have never had a player like him in my teams. He gives his all. He puts his heart into it. With and without the ball, he is very good; he always starts pressing high and finishes our chances. He is always smiling!""

Having continued things with the momentum they had left before the international break, Barca now eyes the upcoming El Clasico fixture in La Liga. Though the Blaugrana club would have gotten a major confidence boost the way they dominated Bayern, the side would need to put their all once again as they face Real Madrid in the upcoming fixture. Hansi Flick commented on their preparations for the much-awaited fixture, saying,
""After we rest today, we can start thinking about Madrid tomorrow. I want to see how we recover and prepare for the Clasico, but I think that yes, we are well prepared.""
- Hansi Flick
Overall, having had an almost perfect campaign so far in the 2024/25 season, Barca fans would hope that they cruise past Real Madrid in the upcoming El Clasico, stretching their tabletop lead in La Liga.
