News has just been confirmed that summer signing sensation Jesse Bisiwu was taken off the pitch on a stretcher after suffering a severe tackle during a Barca Atletic match. There has not been a medical report released from the club yet, but signs are obviously looking like its not very good.
A major setback for the Belgian wonderboy
Ever since he moved from Club Brugge this July for 8.5 million, the 18-year-old Belgian was on the trail for something special. The youngster impressed Hansi Flick during pre-season, bagged goals for Barca Atletic and, according to reports, was expected to gain promotion into the senior team this year.
This would unfortunately see all plans go down the drain. Reports insist Bisiwu was on the end of a very bad tackle. The medical attention he recieved and even using a stretcher means this is much more then just a "knock".
Sources close to the second team say there are very strong suggestions this could well be a major injury, but the time spent out injured will be determined following more thorough tests by the club's medical department.
Official medical report expected
This is a very unhappy turning point for a player who relies on explosive acceleration, quick dribbling, and skills to get past defenders.
Barca Atletic are expected to line up without one of their key attacking outlets, but what remains key is how much time a star, who may have an important part to play at club, spends on the sideline. All Barcelona fans will be awaiting news keenly as the club runs the usual tests to discover the length of the setback.
